Elyse McCurdy Home Designs (EMHD) is an independent architectural design firm located just outside of Ottawa, Ontario, specializing in custom homes and large-scale renovations. My focus is on creating thoughtful, functional, and beautiful spaces that reflect the unique needs and lifestyles of my clients.

My passion for home design began as a young girl, sketching houses at the kitchen table. That love for architecture led me to OCAD University, Canada’s largest and most comprehensive art and design institution, where I earned a Bachelor of Design in Environmental Design, with a focus on architecture and residential design. Today, with over a decade of experience in the industry and a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN), I bring both creative vision and technical expertise to every project.

As a wife and mother, I understand the importance of designing homes that are both beautiful and functional—spaces that truly support family life. I work one-on-one with clients, ensuring that each project is a personal and collaborative experience. Keeping my firm intentionally small allows me to prioritize close client relationships and focus on the details that make each home special.
