who are we?

Elyse McCurdy Home Designs (EMHD) is an independent architectural design firm located outside of Ottawa, Ontario with a focus on residential design, specializing in custom homes and large renovations. 

The story of Elyse McCurdy Home Designs’ humble beginning is with a young girl sitting at the kitchen table sketching homes of her imagination. Eventually, those drawings progressed into adolescence and she began her more formal design education at OCAD University, Canada’s largest and most comprehensive art and design university, where she earned a Bachelor of Design in Environmental Design focused on architecture and residential design. Today she currently holds a Building Code Identification Number (BCIN) which has allowed her to work within the residential design industry for over a decade. 

As a wife and mother, she has a firm understanding of home life and creating spaces for your family. Elyse works one-on-one with clients to create cohesive designs that are a reflection of themselves and their lifestyles. Always striving to keep her business small so she can focus on the intimacy of each home project and client relationship.   Elyse’s passion is about all things home design and it is her mission to make your house a home!
